ST. JOHN’S (May 1, 2015) – The George Street Association has released its line-up of artists performing at the 31st Annual George Street Festival, July 30-August 4, 2015.

Opening this year’s Festival will be iconic 90s rockers Gin Blossoms who will take to the stage in Prince Edward Plaza on Opening Night presented by Bud Light, Thursday, July 30th, with support coming from The Northern Pikes.

Nightly performances will feature artists and bands that appeal to a wide variety of genres and tastes; from local favourites Shanneyganock, to classic rockers Trooper, to acclaimed singer/songwriter City and Colour and Canadian hip hop icon Classified. As tradition dictates, our annual Lamb’s Nation George Street Kitchen Party will feature a number of crowd favourite Celtic bands, including Masterless Men and the legendary “Man of a Thousand Songs” Ron Hynes who will headline a full day of traditional music on Saturday, August 1st.

“We continue to raise the bar with respect to the quality of entertainment that has ever performed on stage at a George Street Festival”, commented GSA Executive Director, Seamus O’Keefe. “The George Street Festival attracts music fans from all over North America and we are able to provide a diverse collection of artists that our George Street patrons have asked for”. This year’s Festival will continue the tradition of the World’s Largest Screech In ceremony on Saturday afternoon that has been a great appeal to the numerous tourists that make the trek to St. John’s.

Corporate support for this year’s Festival comes from partners Bud Light, Lamb’s Rum, Smirnoff Ice, North Atlantic Petroleum, Delta St. John’s and Frank’s Red Hot Sauce which enable the Association to put together a line-up second to none during the popular St. John’s Time.

Tickets for the 2015 George Street Festival will go onsale Saturday, May 2nd at noon at participating North Atlantic Petroleum Orange Stores in the Metro St. John’s area or by purchasing online at www.georgestreetlive.ca.
