George Street Association and Labatt Partner to Support School Lunch Program

St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador (December 18, 2013): For Immediate Release

The George Street Association has partnered with Labatt Breweries of Newfoundland to make a $5,000 donation to the School Lunch Program. “We are very appreciative of this donation which will enable the School Lunch Program to provide over 1,600 healthy meals to deserving children” commented SLA Executive Director Ken Hopkins.

Labatt District Sales Manager Shawn Adams commented that the School Lunch Program was a very worthy initiative to support, given the organization’s commitment of ensuring the nutritional needs of young children in schools each year by providing hot, healthy lunches to students, regardless of individual family circumstances. “At Labatt our goal is to be the best beer company in a better world.  That means giving back to the communities where we live and work. The School Lunch Program is a perfect fit for us”.

“On behalf of the twenty-five members of the George Street Association, we are pleased to partner with Labatt on this initiative and look forward to finding more opportunities to support the School Lunch Program in 2014,” remarked GSA Executive Director Seamus O’Keefe.
